Existential conversations is an installation that was born out of extreme self-reflection. In this work I try to investigate the relationship between our perception of schizophrenia and religion. During my residency in South Africa I learned that in many villages and towns the schizophrenics were seen as saints instead of the mentally ill. The schizophrenics were the gateway that made contact possible between this world and the spirit world. In this installation, which consists of a short feature film (1:55 min) and a cross-shaped sculpture, I enter into a conversation with an object of my own creation.
